Another item was claimed in February!

For March we have a broadcast sheet that just arrived in the mail all the way from Latvia! It is very fragile, but it was well packed and survived the long trip just fine.

Andis found this 1970 Cuda 340 broadcast sheet from Hamtramck in his LA built 1970 Challenger R/T, so we know the rear seat frame was swapped into his car at some point.

There is a spring mark over the last VIN digit and even when scanned at 2500 dpi, I can not make out the last digit in the VIN. The first 12 digits of the VIN are BS23H0B37188 - something....... but I do love a good mystery!

Thankfully I can make out the full VON, so if you have one of the 10 possible 1970 Cudas that have that last 5 in your VIN, email me with a fender tag photo from your car and I will gladly check for a match.

Two more items were claimed in March! One of them went to a car owner all the way over in Saudi Arabia.

For April we have a broadcast sheet that was found inside a bucket seat back of another car as so many are. John had also found a sheet that matched his car. The VINs of the cars are close to 6000 numbers apart but the builds were started only 6 jobs apart on Assembly Line 1. The car with the higher VIN was started first. I just love seeing this type of thing!

The found item of the month is one that anyone can claim - a long overdue break from email & the internet!

Running a free service takes a lot of time after & around my day job. That said, with so many stuck at home due to Covid19, I have had an incredible amount of inquiries via mail & email now for well over a year! It has eaten up a lot more of my time than normal, but of course it needed to be done.

Other things in my life also need some care, so during May I hope to catch up on all (or at least most) of the things I need to do. That said, it is time for me to claim some time for myself, so I will. If possible for you, I hope you can also!

You can still mail & email as you wish, but please know that you may not get a response during the month of May. As always, letters will be answered first according to the dates on the postmarks & emails will be responded to in the order they came in, just not during the month of May.

I am hoping that you & your families are doing well, I appreciate you all.

The month of May was wonderful for me! A break from email & the internet for weeks, several projects completed, it was a very welcome break.

No items were claimed in May, but I have been contacted by a T/A owner I have not heard from before, so some history on his car may be in the mail to him very soon.....

For June we have a broadcast sheet for a 1970 Valiant Duster 340, the VIN on it is VS29H0B168806

We did not have any items of the month for July or August. This was due in part to my email provider changing some settings with no notice, it took weeks to get it working again. That said, all emails during the affected time period have been caught up on, thanks for your patience!

Within that time period a fender tag for a 1970 Hemi Cuda made it back to its original car and an AAR Cuda owner was notified that a broadcast sheet for his car had been reported. The T/A owner I mentioned in the June IOTM also received the past history on his car.

Our IOTM for September is an invoice from Hamtramck to the dealership, the sales invoice from the dealership to the buyer is also here.

This car is a 1970 Challenger with the 225 slant six engine, the VIN on these invoices is JH23C0B399531

We did not have any items claimed during October, but another person was put in contact with someone that had found a broadcast sheet for his car.

I have seen multiple claims from different 1974 Challenger owners in internet forums over the years claiming to have 'the last one built'. 1974 Hamtramck cars are outside my normal areas of study. That said, these cars were not built in VIN order and often NOT on the scheduled production date on the fender tag.

The Mylar door stickers on these models do have the MDH code (Month, Day, Hour) showing the cars actual completion time. So if you have a 1974 and your door sticker is intact, compare it to the date on your fender tag just for fun?

Our IOTM for November is a broadcast sheet for a 1974 Challenger that I am quite sure was NOT the last one made since production on these went at least into May and this one was scheduled for early April.

We did not have any items claimed during November, but the owner of an unusual & very cool Barracuda in California was put in contact with Jeff in Connecticut and Jeff sent the car's owner a broadcast sheet for his car!
