January 2023

2022 was off the charts for new registrations!

For the 1970 L.A. Registry, 207 new cars were recorded, more than from 2017 through 2021 combined!

For the 1970 Hamtramck Registry, 2,742 new cars were recorded, more than double from 2017 through 2021 combined!

It was an incredibly busy year with a total of 2,949 new registry entries!

The new cars included a bit of everything, including AARs, T/As, Western Sport Special Challengers, quite a few more cars with the 3-speed manual transmission, an incredible amount of Cuda 340s, cars with seldom seen color combinations & a significant increase in M46 optioned Barracudas also!

For the 1970 LA & Hamtramck produced A body owners, the E-body owners are WAY ahead of you in registrations! PLEASE register your Valiant 4-doors, Dusters & Darts? (I am still hoping another 1970 Valiant 4-door with the D13 option shows up!)

The more people that register & report items they have for other cars, the more reunions for engines, transmissions, fender tags, broadcast sheets & other paperwork will be possible!

2022 Highlights for me;

Helping a 1970 Hemi Cuda owner get his fender tag back.

Sending out paperwork from the found section to 7 more car owners.

The Carlisle show - It is always good to visit with old friends & make new ones too.

Seeing another 1970 Barracuda with the M46 option; first one I have seen at the Carlisle show. I was able to view another one in December!

A visit to my home town to see my mom.

Hopefully 2023 treats you all well!

(Our regular IOTM will return here for February)

February 2023

Our first IOTM for 2023 is a broadcast sheet that just arrived in my mailbox. Thanks for sending it in Kevin!

It is for a 1970 Challenger R/T convertible and it was was found inside a bucket seat back of another car, as so many are.

The scheduled production dates (SPDs) of the two cars are 7 days apart. The VINs are over 4,100 apart, BUT the lower VIN car was started only 10 jobs before the other one!

I LOVE seeing details like these!

The VIN on this broadcast sheet is JS27V0B241477

As always, proof of ownership and proof the car still exists will be required to claim it.

Thanks!

March 2023

March 2023 marks the 18th Anniversary of this site's debut. Hammy Anniversary everyone!

No items were claimed last month, but I was able to put a Challenger T/A owner in touch with the person that had the original dealership paperwork for his car.

Our IOTM for March is a 1970 Challenger with a 318. The VIN on it is JH23G0B269369

As always, proof of ownership and proof the car still exists will be required to claim it.

Thanks!

April 2023

No items were claimed last month.

Our IOTM for April has an interesting plot twist......

It is the original fender tag for a 1971 Cuda 340 that had a FAKE fender tag on it the last time I heard anything about it. The VIN on it is BS23H1B323156

Unfortunately there are close to 20 different places making fake fender tags now! None of them have any scruples & none of them have any legitimate place in this hobby.

Proof of ownership and proof the car still exists is always required to claim any item. In this case, the fake fender tag will also need to be surrendered to me to claim the original.

P.S. I do not have a 1971 Hamtramck Registry! Anything I have here to claim for them is listed by VIN in the found section on this site.

If you have not checked inside your 1970 bucket seat backs for broadcast sheets yet, please do & please let me know what you find!

September 2023

Our IOTM for September is a broadcast sheet for an AAR Cuda. The VIN on it is BS23J0B300558. This partial broadcast sheet with mouse damage was found in another AAR that had a VIN over 1500 higher & the build for the higher VIN car was started just minutes before the car with the lower VIN. I had the car recorded in The 1970 Hamtramck Registry, but the owner has not registered, so I do not have any contact information for him. It would be great if more AAR owners register!

Proof of ownership and proof the car still exists is always required to claim any item.

Thanks for handing this broadcast sheet over in person Jack!
